To work confidently and competently across difference, we must take the time to examine our own family of origin, community and cultural experiences, and the messages they conveyed to us. This enables us to understand our cultural biases and privileges, and supports greater cultural humility. This, in turn, bolsters our capacity to truly ‘be with’ our diverse clients.
